The European division of sports commercial partnership and recruitment specialists Sporting Group International has confirmed a collaboration with renowned football agent Kento Katayama and La Doce Co Limited.

La Doce operates elite level football academies in Spain to support the development of promising young footballers. In addition, as La Doce’s Founder and CEO , Katayama represents professional footballers in Europe and in his native Japan.

Adrian Wright, Group Chief Executive of Sporting Group International, said: “In six months we’ve made strong progress in the development of Sporting Group International in Europe by appointing Carlos Pérez Vivas as Sponsorship and Sales Manager and developing several partnership opportunities. We see working with Kento as a great way to continue this development.

“Kento has been working with multiple European leagues for several years, but he’s also a very respected figure in Japanese football. By working together, it could lead to expansion of the work of Sporting Group International in both Europe and Asia.”

Sporting Group International has offices in Birmingham, its European headquarters in Gibraltar and an Asia operation in New Delhi. In recent weeks it has helped broker a stadium naming rights agreement for Bolton Wanderers and partnerships for both Watford FC and Valencia CF.

Kento Katayama said: “ By working with SGI I look forward to establish a direct connection between Asia and Europe. For me, this is a very exciting project as thanks to SGI’s network in Europe and La Doce’s network in Asia, we will help develop several exciting projects for brands and clubs. I can’t wait to announce our first project together".
